I recently picked up a couple of “mastergrade” neck blanks, and honestly, they exceeded every expectation I had. The figure on these pieces was absolutely unreal, far beyond what I imagined when ordering. Once I started working them, the quality became even more apparent. The wood was incredibly consistent, stable, and a pleasure to machine and carve. There were no surprises,no weird grain tear-out, no hidden flaws,just clean, predictable cuts the entire way through. That kind of reliability makes a huge difference when you're putting time into a neck build. What really stood out was how visually striking the figure became as I worked through shaping and sanding. It just kept getting better with every step. These are the kinds of blanks that make you slow down and appreciate the process. Overall, I couldn’t be happier. If this is what “mastergrade” means from them, they’ve definitely set a high bar. I’ll absolutely be coming back for more.
