American ash (Fraxinus americana) is considered to be a classic choice for guitar bodies due to its strong and dense composition. One of the most prominent differences between the two subspecies we offer--northern ash and swamp ash--is in its weight where one will be considerably heavier than the other. In addition, a difference in tonality should also be expected.
