great for the money!
Great value for the money. This carve top has nice figuring and is plenty thick. I'm really lookin forward to getting going with it. As always, ASH was quick in their turn around; I had this at my door in two days.

Big bang for the buck
I'm new to lutherie, and i thought this would be a good practice top i wouldn't mind ruining if i made a mistake, but it was still maple so i could always slap some veneer over it or paint it a solid color and have an LP-ish body if it came out alright. I was surprised when i got it in the light and saw some good, even flame. It did have a knot on the very edge in a place you'd almost never use, and along the edges again where you'd never use there's a small spot mirrored in the bookmatch, but way off on the side. For fifteen bucks i expected borderline garbage for practice, and ended up with something that shouldn't even need veneer, if i don't mess it up learning. ; )
